About you:
- No previous quality inspection experience required — training will be provided.
- An interest in quality, engineering, manufacturing, or inspection is essential.
- Exposure to manufacturing, engineering, or technical environments (through work, apprenticeship, or education) is desirable.
- Basic understanding of technical drawings is an advantage.
- Willingness to learn inspection techniques, metrology equipment, and quality systems.
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Desirable (But Not Essential):
- Experience or education related to engineering, manufacturing, or materials.
- Awareness of composite materials or aerospace/automotive manufacturing.
- Knowledge of quality standards such as AS9100 or ISO9001.
About the role:
We are seeking a Trainee Quality Inspector to support our composites manufacturing operations. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone looking to start or develop a career in quality inspection within a composites or advanced manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will receive structured training and on-the-job support to develop inspection, metrology, and quality assurance skills while working closely with experienced inspectors and cross-functional teams
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the inspection of composite and metallic components under supervision.
- Carrying out visual and basic dimensional inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products in line with drawings and quality requirements.
- Learning to operate inspection equipment including manual measuring tools (e.g. micrometers, verniers, height gauges).
- Supporting CMM and portable measurement activities using PCDMIS and/or PolyWorks, with full training provided.
- Learning to interpret engineering drawings and apply basic GD&T principles.
- Accurately recording inspection results and completing inspection documentation.
- Assisting with the preparation of quality records, including FAIR packs (AS9102) and Certificates of Conformance (C of C).
- Supporting the maintenance of inspection equipment and calibration records.
- Working alongside manufacturing and quality teams to help identify and resolve quality issues.
- Following company procedures, quality standards, and health & safety requirements always.
- Other duties as directed.
Your working hours: 37 hours per week
Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 4pm
Friday 7.30am – 12.30pm
Variations to these hours and overtime may be asked of you dependent on business needs.
