Here at Pentaxia we are thrilled to participate in the Macmillan Cancer Support World’s Biggest Coffee Morning by holding a bake sale for all staff.
It is such a good cause and an easy one to encourage everyone to support as pretty much everyone has either been affected by or knows someone that has been affected cancer in one way or another. The stats are alarming with a prediction that by 2020, almost one in two people will get cancer at some point in their lives and each year 120,000 people of working age are diagnosed with cancer. It is therefore one of the best charities to support as the work of Macmillan is invaluable in supporting those whose lives are turned upside down with their own or their loved ones diagnosis.
Holding the bake sale at Pentaxia was the idea of Sarah Norris, wife of our Production Director Adam, and with the help of her mum Helen and friends Sarah and Kath they provided a vast array of delicious delicacies for the Pentaxia team to enjoy. There were also contributions from staff who were all on board to make this a successful event.
So as break time hit, the staff canteen was full of hungry staff in search of cake and what an array they found before them! Cake was eaten, doggy bags filled and most importantly donations made. To help the grand total along, Pentaxia donated £250 to get the ball rolling.
And there was not just cake to eat, a raffle with a great selection of prizes was also held again with all funds raised going straight to Macmillan. At time of posting funds are still rolling in so we’ll let you know the grand total raised next week!
